Blue Water Bridge Closure 2024

Beginning May 29, 2024, the eastbound span of the Bluewater bridge - connecting Sarnia, ON, and Port Huron, MI - will be closed for maintenance and repairs. All traffic will be diverted to the westbound bridge, where lanes will be divided for east and westbound traffic. Completion is scheduled for October 2024.

The Walpole-Algonac Ferry is committed to providing Safe, Timely, and Reliable service across the St.Clair River and we are making preparations to accommodate the anticipated increase in vehicle traffic.

We will operate two boats on weekends and continually monitor vehicle traffic on weekdays and will put into service a second boat when demand increases.
